WNTI Americana Music Director
I'm a full time auto mechanic with 4 lovely children (Jeffrey, 23, Becky, 20, Daniel, 18, and Heidi, 15)
and my wonderful wife Heidi. I live in White Township and work in Budd Lake.
My interest in WNTI began about 15 years ago when I discovered this very unique station right here in
Hackettstown, NJ. I never realized that there was so much great music I'd never heard of. I became an
avid listener in no time.
Fast forward to around 1996 when I became self-employed. Friday nights routine involved doing the book
work while listening to Al Stanbary and the 'Caribbean Vibes' show. After calling in a few requests I
asked him what it was like at the station. 'Come on up and see for yourself' was his reply. A few
weeks later I did just that. I dropped in on him and was immediately taken in on the whole 'radio thing'.
I really never even remotely considered getting behind the mic, but after a few more visits to the station
I was hooked!
Al would let me do the station id's and other trivial announcements along with some banter back and forth
with him and 'Little Eddie'. It seemed like I was showing up every week and really becoming comfortable
with the whole thing.
Well, then I asked the inevitable question:
"How does someone get to be a DJ here?"...........
Next thing you know I was co-hosting with Al and doing fill-in's when needed. After about a year of fill-in's
I was given my own time slot which has evolved into my current saturday morning spot. Originally I was
doing a Motown/Soul/R&B format. That has now changed to Americana, and I'm the stations Americana
This has been one of the most wonderful events of my 53 years, aside from meeting and marrying my lovely
wife, Heidi. I hope to continue doing this as long as the station will allow me. It is quite a privilege
to be part of this great station.
