On the Bandstand with Al Monroe
As I write this, I am at a point in my life where I have spent the last 20 years at the wonderful WNTI. I am extremely delighted to tell you how much I've enjoyed these years at the station. During this time I have seen WNTI grow to become a fantastic radio station not only in its great programming but in the many wonderful projects the station has put on to help countless thousands of local citizens in attaining them food requirements and housing needs.
In presenting my program, On The Bandstand, I am extremely happy and proud to present the music
from the "Great American Songbook". In so doing it covers a wonderful span of time from the 1920's to
the 1960's. During that period of time it has brought so much happiness and joy to millions upon millions
of Americans and people around the world. At the present time my show is on Sunday from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
During the first two hours of the show I play a mix of the great Big Bands and many male and female vocalists.
Some of them include Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Count Basie, Sammy Kaye, Guy Lombardo, Tommy
and Jimmy Dorsey and Les Brown. Also showcasing Dean Martin, Andy Williams, Jerry Vale, Bing Crosby just
to name a few.
The last hour of my show is all the Chairman Of The Board, Francis Albert Sinatra. Because the music is so wonderful I am able to present some great tribute to Veterans of our armed services on Memorial Day and Veterans Day. I also pay tribute to the moms on Mother's Day and the dads on Father's Day. Special singers are paid tribute to on their birthdays too. I love my show and am so happy to have it bring great joy to Senior Americans who love that music!
Most sincerely,
Al Monroe
